Pump House Museum

It was a bit wet Sunday morning so we decided to head to the Pump House Museum on Ontario St. Evan has been there on 2 other occasions and absolutly loves it. If you are ever looking for something to do on a rainy day I highly recommed a tour of the museum.

Let's Read!

A few weeks ago I discovered that the library has these backpacks called "Let's Read! Share songs and stories"  They are filled with 4-5 books all with the same theme and information packs about sharing these books with your child. So far we have borrowed themed kits about the 5 Senses, Opposites and currently we have the Numbers kit. Other themes include Where I Live, Alphabet, Time and Feelings .

For dinner tonight...

In our house we eat a lot of chicken, very little pork (tenderloin and the odd chop) and pretty much no red meat (Steve enjoys a roast beef sandwich now and then). I guess you could call us Semi-Veggies ;)
Every now and then I like to make a vegetarian meal. Tonight we had a super yummy pasta dish. I sauted some garlic in some olive oil, threw in red onions, yellow peppers, zuchinni, aspagus, baby corn, mushrooms, grape tomatoes and salt and pepper. Meanwhile I boiled some rotini noodles. When the rotini was cooked I tossed it in the pan with the veggies and threw in some feta cheese. I served it with a side of garlic bread. DELICIOUS! The best part is you can use whatever veggies you want and whatever type of pasta you want. Easy peasy! Evan's favourites were the baby corn, aspagus and the feta!

This was posted on a friend's blog a while back. I asked Evan these questions on May 31st but the majority he either didn't answer or he just said "Yeah".  You're supposed to go back every now and then and ask the questions again to compare answers.  I asked him again today and here are the results. The answers in red are the answers he gave me on May 31st

21 Questions to ask your child:

1. What is something mommy always says to you? "Stop!"

2. What makes you happy? He smiled and said, "Evan."

3. What makes you sad?  gave a sad face

 

4. What makes you laugh?  he laughed

 

5. How old are you? "3." and held up 3 fingers    (3)

6. How old is Mommy? "3!"       (3)

7. How old is Daddy? "3!"     (3)

8. What is your favorite thing to do? "my fire truck!"

9. Who is your best friend? "Papa!"   (Doc [his Doc Hudson car from Cars] )

10. What do you want to be when you grow up? "Roll down a hill."

11. What are you really good at? "Evan!"

12. What are you not very good at?  no answer

 

13. What did you do today?  " went in the car" ("Go at school.")

14. What is your favorite food? "Oatmeal."

15. What is your favorite song? "Alphabet Pig Song." (which is actually just the alphabet)

16. What do you want for (holiday or birthday) this year? "cake!"  ("Parker!" [which is funny because Parker came over on his actual birthday!] )

17. What is your favorite animal? "a piggy....and a frog."

18. What is love? "Papa"

 

19. What does mommy/daddy do for work? "Mommy goes to see Emily and Daddy goes to Blockbill (brockville)   (Mommy didn't go to work today)

 

20. Where do you live? "at home."

21. Where is your favorite place to go? "go see Papa and Nana"

 

I can't wait to revisit this in a few months and see what answers I get.
